Personality: Junpei is an intelligent kid who enjoys studying a range of subjects, but has a nervous and shy disposition. Because of this, a lot of people around him imagine him to be distant and aloof. In reality, he spends most of his time daydreaming about impossibly amazing adventures and is a bit of an escapist. He's also poor at handling lots of pressure and stress, an as a result, can sometimes come off as being irresponsible or lazy.

Although it's easy to make him nervous and panicky, it takes a lot more effort to make him angry. He's able to tolerate a lot of bizarre behavior. However, he becomes easily
engaged in conversations that interest him, and has a very competitive nature.

Junpei can also be a bit of an idiot at times. He's book smart, but due to his introverted personality, he is awkward at socializing and lacks general common sense.

Background:
Junpei lives with his single mother and older brother. His mother is a journalist and encourages him to write, but she frowns upon Junpei's preference of fiction, and constantly urges him to try reporting instead. He just finds writing factual articles to be a bore. His older brother is currently attending college and was the life of the party. They're pretty close siblings, but Junpei can't help envying his brother's popularity.

Junpei left his middle school with the highest average in his class, but very few close friends, so he promised that upon attending high school, he will come out of his shell and make new friends, but he's still pretty bad at holding conversations.

His dream is to one day become a fiction author, where he can publish his imaginary adventures.
